We provide certification to building companies who specialise in residential construction.

Our mission is to provide certainty to our clients by educating and ensuring they build high quality and compliant homes. Here at Platinum Building Approvals our team must have previous onsite building experience. Why? Because we believe it is fundamentally important for a certifier to bring a practical understanding of the building industry to communicate and work with builders and developers more effectively.

We’re here to support your every step to ensure you’re building sooner rather than later.

We understand how frustrating delays and time constraints can be, and that is why we value a high level of communication with you from start to finish, and ensure that we stay a step ahead of the latest laws and technical developments. DEVELOPERS

We work with Developers at the early stages of their projects to ensure they’re building in accordance with the relevant government legislation. We also complete the entire building certification process on small and larger residential developments in Queensland.

BUILDERS

We certify plans in accordance with building legislation, issue a building permit to start construction, and manage the inspection process from foundations through to completion for Project Builders, as well as those who build unique designed homes in Queensland.

ARCHITECTS & BUILDING DESIGNERS

We work with Architects and Building Designers providing advice on building legislation, technical codes, and construction standards to ensure their designs are in accordance with the relevant government legislation’s in Queensland.

Danika Downting

Operations & Finance Manager

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Business
Majoring in Marketing & Management

Danika loves creating beautiful spaces to live and work in, as well as thrives on improving systems. She has hands on experience in interior design for new builds and renovations. Danika enjoys travelling, days at the beach with her family and designing & building things with her husband.

Zac Cundell

Building Surveyor

Licence: QBCC Building Certifier Level 3

Qualifications & Experience:

Provide building surveying services for residential buildings up to 3 storeys
Diploma in Building Surveying
AIBS Accreditation
Certificate 3 in construction
Certificate 4 in building construction

Zac lived abroad for 6 years – working the UK for 3.5 years and Canada for 2 years. He has experience with renovations, new builds, high-end homes and commercial construction. He then transitioned into a cadet building certifying role and studied for 2 years before becoming a licenced building surveyor.

Zac enjoys playing sport, surfing and travelling.

Amanda Aisbett

Permit Workflow Manager

Amanda has always been part of the building industry in some way, conveyancing clerk, roof tile distributor, building cadet at Henley then 20 years as a mortgage broker specialising in construction loans, then back to building, pre-con and construction administration. Now joining the PBA team and supporting our Building Certifiers it is rounding up her experience as a whole.

Amanda loves being a mum to Finn and watching him play footy. She enjoys bushwalking, being in nature and swimming in the ocean. Much like the rest of the PBA team she is passionate about architecture and interior design.

Josh Clarke

Building Certifier Cadet

Josh has spent the majority of his life living and working in New Zealand, where he gained extensive experience in high-end residential construction on Waiheke Island—a well-known island in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf. His background includes large-scale new builds, luxury residential renovations, and light commercial projects.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys traveling and exploring new places, particularly those rich in diverse cultures.

Lindsay Rosser

Building Certifier Cadet

Lindsay has spent his construction career on the Gold Coast and brings a broad range of industry experience to Platinum Building Approvals. He is a qualified builder in both Queensland and New South Wales, with experience across residential construction, estimating and site supervision. His background also includes carrying out site inspections, preparing detailed scopes of work, bill of quantities and managing projects valued at up to $150 million. Outside of work, Lindsay is a keen diver and holds a Master Dive Licence.

Emma Byrnes

Certification Administrator

Mum life – Professional kids’ sports taxi, ocean lover, golden retriever obsessed and powered by good coffee, fish tacos and margs.

Worked for Tweed Shire Council for 14 years in the Building and Environmental Health Unit. Supporting and working with building surveyors and town planners with development applications, lodging and issuing approvals. Booking in inspections.

Hannah Weber

Certification Administrator

Hannah brings over 10 years of experience in private building certification in NSW, supporting certifiers throughout the approval and certification process. Her experience spans building approvals, certificates, compliance documentation and the many administrative details that help keep projects moving from start to finish.

Always keen to learn, Hannah continues to build her industry knowledge and keeps up with changes in building legislation.

Outside of work, Hannah loves spending time with her daughter, heading to the beach, practising Pilates and enjoying the outdoors. She’s also a big animal lover, with a particularly soft spot for pugs.
